WEDDING TIPS

To make your wedding day stress-free

I. Choose a skilled wedding planner

A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime celebration filled with beautiful details, tight schedules, loved ones, and overwhelming emotions. Hiring a wedding planner can bring your dream wedding to life and relieve you of any stress on your big day.

We collaborate closely with wedding planners to capture every special moment of your wedding day. Having a skilled planner on board streamlines the photography process and allows us to focus on capturing stunning images, leaving the logistics of the wedding in their capable hands.

II. Don't miss out on an engagement session

As destination wedding photographers we know that our clients come from far and wide. Unfortunately, we often don't get to meet in person before the big day. An engagement session offers a fantastic opportunity for us to get to know each other, for you to get comfortable in front of the camera, and for you to have a blast creating stunning and adventurous images together. These sessions also help you feel more relaxed on the wedding day. So don't miss this chance to have fun and capture beautiful memories!

III. notice the sunset time

We prioritize planning to ensure we capture breathtaking images. As we use film, it's crucial to take advantage of natural light for important elements such as details, decor, and portraits. Working with your wedding planner, we'll create a timeline that capitalizes on the best light to ensure your memories are preserved in the most beautiful way possible. To ensure success, make sure to know the sunset time for your wedding day and consider visiting the location beforehand to observe the light throughout the day. This will assist in determining the ideal times for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.

IV. Proper wedding day timeline

A realistic wedding day timeline is crucial for ensuring a stress-free and successful photography experience. Delays in hair and makeup can significantly alter the schedule and reduce the time available for pre-ceremony portraits. To avoid this, we suggest scheduling a hair and makeup trial beforehand. Including buffer time in your timeline, up to an hour, helps account for any unexpected delays. The ideal outcome is finishing on schedule, leaving time for a celebratory drink before the ceremony. A helpful tip: when informing the family and bridal party of their portrait times, request their arrival 15 minutes early to ensure promptness.

VI. Small details are important

To ensure all your wedding details are captured in photographs, kindly have them ready in advance. This includes your complete invitation suite, in pristine condition, along with your preferred calligraphy, addressing, and stamps. Also, please include your welcome bag, favors, all paper products, wedding dress, shoes, all wedding rings, and any other details from the day that you would like photographed. We enjoy styling still life shots, especially when incorporating meaningful items from you. Think about incorporating family heirlooms, jewelry, ribbon, fabric, and other items that will elevate your images. Please keep your wedding and bridal details in the bridal suite where you're getting ready so that we can photograph them upon our arrival.

V. Select a stunning preparation site

Your wedding day photography begins during your preparation, and the location you choose sets the stage. Whether it's a bridal suite, hotel room, or another location, think about the background for these images. This is where we'll capture most of your details and initial portraits. To create seamless and cohesive images, choose a bright, airy location with plenty of natural light and a decor style similar to your wedding venue.

VII. Take a preliminary glance

It is strongly suggested to capture the majority of your portraits before the ceremony. This offers more time to create stunning portraits of you and those important to you, and it also enables you to fully participate in post-ceremony celebrations. Waiting until cocktail hour for portraits can lead to frustration and impatience as couples desire to spend the time with loved ones rather than taking pictures. To minimize disruption of your post-ceremony fun, it's best to reserve only the essential group portraits for immediately after the ceremony.

VIII. Give up phones for the wedding ceremony

The presence of cell phones and tablets can pose a challenge during your ceremony. It is common for guests to try to capture the moment using their own devices, which can result in distracting elements in your wedding photos and obstruct the expressions of you and your guests. The most moving and authentic photographs come from a ceremony where guests are fully present, with their attention focused on the moment rather than their devices.

Consider requesting your officiant to make a pre-processional announcement asking guests to refrain from using cameras and devices, allowing them to fully immerse in and witness the ceremony with their hearts and eyes

iX. Relax and have confidence in us

Before booking, it's crucial for us to have a clear understanding of you and your wedding day to ensure compatibility. We enjoy getting to know both of you, including your personalities, family, and backgrounds to comprehend your love story and individuality. After your engagement session, you will be familiar with what to expect on your big day. So, feel at ease, be yourself, and trust us to handle the rest.
